Closure of Archives and Special Collections on 7th November 2011

Kingston University Archives and Special Collections will be closed to researchers on the 7th November 2011, reopening in the afternoon of the 8th November 2011.

The Archive is closing for a special launch event for four of our newer Archive Collections.  These are:

  • Orange Prize for Fiction Archive
  • Publishing News Archive
  • Cary Ellison Theatre Programme Collection
  • Brian Smith Theatre Programme Collection

All four collections were generously donated to the University, and the event will celebrate the arrival of the collections, and thank our donors.

In preparation for the event, an exhibition of items from the four collections is being placed in the display cases in the Archives gallery, just round the corner from the PC area on the ground floor of the Penrhyn Road LRC.  Apart from the evening of 7th the exhibition can be viewed by all visitors to the LRC, and we hope that many of you will be able to enjoy this snapshot of the four collections.

As a result of the exhibition, some items from the four collections will not be available to researchers for the next few weeks.  If you have any queries regarding this, or would like to make an appointment to view items from any of our Archive collections, please email archives@kingston.ac.uk
